Free Credit Report
A recent amendment to the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) mandates that each agency provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every year.
You should order a copy of your credit report about once a year, and dispute anything that is inaccurate. You can do this at www.annualcreditreport.com. You can also contact each of the three national credit reporting agencies. They are independent of each other, and it’s good to make sure that each company has the right information on you. They are www.equifax.com , www.experian.com , www.trasunion.com
